Her passion for fashion with a capital F is something she was born with. Her creativity has always travelled with her. In reality you could say her creativity and her have been shaped together, that they have grown up together.

She grew up receiving all the pampering and attention that come with being the only daughter (she only has one brother) in the family. Her mother, Margarita Jovani, was already at that time a famous dressmaker and ever since she was little Marta’s favourite activity was to play in her mother’s workshop. In fact, when she was only four or five she begun trying to make dresses for her dolls out of leftover cloth.

This was how she at the tender age of 16 already came to make some very mature and daring decisions: to design her very own collection to be sold in her street-level store. After they saw her designs and how much energy she put into the work, her family gave her the necessary support and Tot Hom was born.

Marta came up with the name at the time of registering the business, after thinking: “I want something that can reach everyone and something that will make everyone understand my ideas... everyone... tothom... Tot Hom!”

Her mother’s clients could hardly believe their eyes when they saw what the girl was presenting them with and soon Marta had her own growing circle of clients. After a while, she had to find a new, larger place to hold her fashion shows, and then again when this one also became too small as her designs increased in number and improved in quality.

The fabrics used in her designs have for years been bought exclusively from the best providers in Spain, Italy, and other countries. The blondes are dyed to match the fabrics, as are the buttons and linings. The embroideries are done manually, pearl by pearl, sequin by sequin... Not in China, but in Spain by great craftsmen and women.

Without a doubt, what Marta Rota has achieved through her 35 years of activity is a complete line of clothing, from sportswear to prêt-à-porter, evening dresses and formal gowns, full of creativity but at the same time charcterised by dressmaking following the highest standards of craftsmanship.

Brides are the other cornerstone of her clientele. She designs and presents a “Bridal gown special” true to her style, neither ostentatious nor pompous. She rather gives predominance to sober and feminine designs and to the high quality of fabrics and other materials.

A few years ago, after finishing their studies in fashion design and marketing, her two daughters, Andrea and Alejandra Osés, joined the design department. They work both for Tot Hom and creating their own line, “Line A”, directed towards a clientele which is younger but equally exigent regarding quality and finish.

The faithful clientele which Marta Rota has conquered through all these years covers the whole Spanish geography and even reaches abroad. Among her clients there are many famous last names, with representation from the nobility and even from royal families, but Marta has never wanted to make a point out of this.

The natural demeanour she shares with her daughters permits them to treat and advice everyone, “Tot Hom”, in the same way and this is, undoubtedly, the key to their success. This success is the reason why every season more than 4.000 people attend her three fashion-shows.
